Exploring Water and Hydrogen as Renewable Energy Resources: G&E Sales and a Bavarian delegation collaborate with Chilean partners for Sustainable Solutions

The Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy was leading a delegation of businesses, researchers, and industry experts on a visit to Chile from March 12-19, 2023. The delegation's mission was to explore and establish technology partnerships with Chilean companies and researchers to promote sustainable production, water management, and renewable energy, with the goal of achieving a carbon-neutral economy by 2040.

With a GDP of €661 billion and a population of over 13 million, Bavaria is one of Europe's strongest and most dynamic regions, known for its high-tech industry. The state is committed to achieving carbon neutrality and recognizes that it can only do so by partnering with other countries worldwide. Chile, with its favorable conditions for renewable energy production, is an attractive partner for Bavaria in its pursuit of a green global economy.

Chile is the first country in Latin America to have a strategy for green hydrogen and has ambitious goals for its production and export. However, the country also faces challenges in the areas of water management and environmental technologies. The Bavarian delegation arrived with the intention to collaborate with Chilean companies and researchers to develop innovative solutions in areas such as Industry 4.0, Water 4.0, and digitalization.

Under the theme "Water is Energy," the Bavarian delegation visited Santiago de Chile, Antofagasta/Calama, Púcon/Temuco, and Punta Arenas, engaging in friendly and constructive discussions with Chilean counterparts to exchange ideas and strategies. The delegation was led by the Bavarian Representative Office for South America, and supported by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.

Through this visit, Bavaria and Chile are taking a significant step towards building a green global economy that prioritizes sustainable production, renewable energy, and water management. The partnerships established during this visit have the potential to make a significant impact on both economies and could serve as a model for other countries looking to build a sustainable future.

G&E Sales, as an international consulting and trading company based in Bavaria, Germany, was part of the delegation to Chile. The company was looking to establish strategic partnerships with Chilean companies and researchers in the areas of water technologies, hydrogen solutions, and renewable energy.

During the visit, G&E Sales had the opportunity to network with potential partners and visit key sites such as a wastewater treatment plant in Temuco, the innovation center of the Universidad Católica, the solar plant Cerro Dominador, and the HIF-Pilot Project Plant for E-fuels (for Porsche, Siemens and other German companies). G&E Sales also attended different workshops about "Water is Energy" with other members of the Bavarian delegation and counterparts from Chile.

Through these activities, G&E Sales gained valuable insights into Chile's renewable energy and water management industries, as well as the potential for technology partnerships in these areas. The visit also provided a platform for the company to showcase its expertise and capabilities to potential partners and customers in Chile.

G&E Sales understands the importance of the Chilean economy for the global market and knows that partnerships and expanding its market presence in order to remain competitive are very important. The visit to Chile provided the company with an opportunity to get insights and make connections with local businesses, researchers, and industry experts. Overall, the visit was a valuable experience for G&E Sales and contributed to the company's goal of becoming a leader well-known international company that helps its clients with international market entries.
